CMP: What is
a day in the life of Erika Estrada like and what do you do in your spare
time?
Erika Estrada:
I am always on the go! With work and modeling, it seems that I never have
spare time. If I do have spare time I love to dance salsa and listen to
music.
CMP: Are you
a full time model or are you leading secret double life?
Erika Estrada:
LOL.. I’m not a full time model yet but that’s the goal.
CMP: What 3
words would describe you best?
Erika Estrada:
Sweet, friendly, loyal
CMP: How long
have you been modeling?
Erika Estrada:
Off and on for a couple of years
CMP: With so
many types of modeling, where do you see your niche?
Erika Estrada:
I want to do it all! A true model is versatile.
CMP: I was
ready your MySpace page and it says that your hometown in San Diego, how did
you get to the Carolinas?
Erika Estrada:
I moved here with my family when I was really young.
CMP: What is
the story behind the pictures of you draped in the Mexican Flag?
Erika Estrada:
That was for the cover of a local magazine. The issue was about Cinco de
Mayo
CMP: Do you
think that there are advantages or disadvantages of being a model of color?
Erika Estrada:
No don’t think so. There are so many types of modeling there is plenty for
all colors shapes and sizes
CMP: What are
the biggest misconceptions people have about you that would like to
correct?
Erika Estrada:
That I’m easy. LOL… I guess when you model certain clothing for example
lingerie, people seem to look at you as easy, and they don’t look at it for
its purpose. IM NOT EASY PEOPLE!! LOL
CMP:
Do you consider your self a sex symbol?
Erika Estrada:
I hope so…lol
CMP: I voted for you in
The Patriot Girls Model Contest with out even knowing
what I was voting for, what was I voting for? What is The Patriot Girls and
how did you get involved with that organization?
Erika Estrada:
The contest is to win a trip and some great prizes
associated with the Patriot Girls. The Patriot Girls USA is a
national organization created to show support for our troops by creating
patriotic and military themed images and products. I was approached by the
organization and thought it was something I would enjoy being a part of.
CMP: What has
been your most treasured accomplishment and why?
Erika Estrada:
Finishing school. Nothing is more important than getting your education.
KIDS STAY IN SCHOOL!!! LOL
CMP: What has
been your most embarrassing moment on a shoot or at an event?
Erika Estrada:
Can’t think of any yet
CMP: What do
your family, friends or co-workers think of you modeling?
Erika Estrada:
My family is very supportive… I get mixed opinions from other people
CMP: What
would advice would you give to someone wanting to get in the business of
modeling about choosing photographers, jobs and avoiding the casting couch?
Erika Estrada:
Just be cautious in dealing with people. There are a lot of people out there
that say they are something they are not!
CMP: Do you
think that the industry puts unnecessary pressure on models to look a
certain way? For example, tanning, working out excessively, plastic surgery,
etc.
Erika Estrada:
Yes, but the industry is changing a little and people are changing their
view of what is beautiful. It’s not just the stick figures world anymore!
CMP: Any
projects that you are involved in that we need to be on the look out for?
Erika Estrada:
Yup… Look out for me in some upcoming issues of Skin Tones mag and Straight
Stuntin mag. Also working on some stuff with Kicksandchicks.com.
CMP: What are
your favorite websites, and are you a MySpace addict?
Erika Estrada:
Yes I am a Myspace addict! There I said it!
CMP: Where
else can you be found on the web (saves time from “Google”ing you) and do
you have your own website?
Erika Estrada:
I am working on my own website. ErikaEstrada.com, Its under construction. And
of coarse Myspace, Model Mayhem, One Model Place, Kicksandchicks.com, and
can’t forget Carolina Model Project.
CMP: Are
there any rumors or persistent stupid questions that you want to put to rest
for once and for all?
Erika Estrada: Can’t
think of one yet.
